OEP team participate at the WTO Public Forum in Switzerland

This year’s Public Forum will look at how trade can contribute to post-pandemic economic recovery. The Forum has three sub-themes:

● Leveraging technology for an inclusive recovery.
● Delivering a trade agenda for a sustainable future.
● Framing the future of trade.

This forum has provided opportunities to look at the latest developments in the global trade in the post-pandemic time and so strengthen ties with international actors (WTO, ITC, UNCTAD) and also showcase the latest developments in Oman in regard to the Oman Exports Platform, as the first truly digital and interactive platform for providing professional services to Omani companies, which is also an important milestone in the global transformation of trade towards digital means. It has been agreed to initiate the collaboration with ITC in form of LOI and also to utilize the existing building capacity and business accelerators programs that could be implemented in Oman via OEP team at SQU Research Centre. Also, to utilize available services within WTO & UNCTAD related to Global Trade help desk and Tariff database and embed it to OEP.
